Obituary

Adam Wayne Hadlock,33, Custer, South Dakota, passed away in Rapid City on Sunday, July 5, 2026, due to a medical condition.

Adam was born on May 16, 1993, in Custer, South Dakota, the son of Jennifer and Dusty.

He attended the Custer School District and graduated with the class of 2011. Adam grew up alongside his uncle Jerad; his brothers, Cody and Lucas; and his sister, Sarah.

From the time he was born, Adam enjoyed hiking, horn hunting, fishing, camping, riding ATVs, and spending time with family. He shared a special bond with his Poppa Butch, who lovingly called him “Spike.” His brother Cody and close friends also knew him as “Skeet.”

Adam spent significant portions of his life with his Uncle Jason Wayne and Amber.

Throughout his life, Adam worked various jobs, ranging from construction to restaurant work.

He welcomed his first child, a son, Michael William, on March 11, 2012, with Carissa Brown.

Adam later married in July 2019. He welcomed his first daughter, Mia Rose, on January 19, 2021, and his second daughter, Alayah Marie, on June 9, 2022. Adam was incredibly proud of his children and loved them deeply.

Survivors include his parents, Jennifer and Dusty; his daughters, Mia and Alayah of Custer; his son, Michael of Rapid City; his brother Cody of Hill City; his brother Lucas and sister Sarah of Rapid City; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his uncle Jerad W. Hiermeier; his Poppa, Rodney Wayne “Butch” Hiermeier; his grandparents, Ray and Mary Hadlock; his great-grandparents, Mel and Linda Hiermeier; and his cousin, Cassey Hadlock.

Services will be held at McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer on July 25, 2026, at 10 AM.

Private committal services will be held at the Pringle Cemetery at a later date.
