Obituary
Adeline "Addie" Eve Toman (Stritecky), 94, passed away on December 23rd, 2016, at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Worland, WY.
Addie was born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1921, to John and Clara Stritecky in Colome, SD. She was the third of five children, including three sisters and one brother. Addie helped work on the family farm in her youth and enjoyed dancing, sewing, cooking, baking, and crocheting. Later on, she graduated from the 8th grade, something she was especially proud of accomplishing.
Addie married her husband, Rudolph "Rudy" James Toman, on January 28, 1941, in Winner, SD. During their marriage of 38 years they had five children, all of them boys. During that time, Addie cared and loved her husband and children, as well as being a loving friend for others in her local community. She was especially proud of her five boys as each of them served one branch of the United States Armed Services; Dale (U.S. Navy), Larry (Ret. U.S. Coast Guard), Dennis (Ret. U.S. Marine Corps), Rick (U.S. Army), and Terry (Ret. U.S. Air Force.) As in her youth, Addie loved sewing, cooking, and baking – especially for her five boys and husband.
In 2001, Addie moved to Worland, WY, from Edgemont, SD. Shortly after moving to Worland, she entered the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center where she was cared and loved by many staff for fourteen years. She loved having visitors and frequently kept in touch with her family and friends.
Addie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudy; sister, Sophia "Sophie" Havelka; brother, John Stritecky Jr.; granddaughter, Lorrie Cooke; and great-granddaughter, Jessica.
Addie is survived by her two older sisters, Agnes (99 years); Lydia (97 years); children, Dale (Sherill); Larry (Lynn); Dennis (Anastacia); Rick; and Terry (Toni); as well as multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Throughout her entire life, Addie loved many people and was loved by many more. Her smile, personality, and presence will be sorely missed.
Family committal services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the Edgemont Cemetery near Edgemont.
