Obituary
Dr. Albert Richard 'Al' Coates, age 71, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away May 19, 2011, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy of Cedar Rapids; mother, Jane Coates of Edgemont, SD; children, LilaAnn Coates White (Todd) of Duluth, MN; Heather Marie Fallis (Jonathon) of Moberly, MO; James Alan Coates (Ashley) of Marion, IA; Richard Lee Coates of Orlando, FL; brothers, Dr. J. Edwin Coates (Virginia) of Hot Springs, SD; Col. Donald Duane Coates (Patricia) of Colorado Springs, CO; and ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2011, at the United Church in Edgemont with Reverend Peary Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Edgemont cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Al's name.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Edgemont. Written condolences can be made at www.mccolleyschapels.com.
