Alfred L. Hanson was born August 11, 1930, to Albert and Clara Hanson in Bemidji, MN., as the 3 rd child in a family of 10 children (5 boys and 5 girls). The family moved to Custer in 1942 and relocated to Hanna, WY in 1945. When his mother died in 1946, the family all stayed together, growing, up and caring for each other, moving back and forth living in different places in WY and Custer. While in Custer the children attended school at 4 mile. Later each married having families of their own. A family where life begins, and love never ends. He and Isabel enjoyed owning the Reuzit Shop in Custer, for 20 years, until 2011. Alfred and Isabel were blessed with four children: Jim, Marilyn, Linda and John; nine grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Clara Hanson; three brothers, Dick, Elmer and Tom Hanson; two sisters, Betty McKee and Edith Simms.
He is survived by his wife, Isabel Hanson of sixty six years; two sons, Jim (Sandy) Hanson of Newcastle, WY; John Hanson of Custer; two daughters, Marilyn Alexander and Linda (Dan) Bartos of Rapid City, SD; nine grandchildren, Nicole (Ryan) Christiansen of Sheridan, WY; Lacey (Allen) Van Eye of Newcastle, WY; Taryn Broomfield of Rapid City, SD; Jenna (Steve) Ceschini of Rapid City, SD; Kalli (Michael) Hopkins of Centerville, OH; Ryan (Jayne) Van Schoonhoven of Rapid City, SD; Joel (Zandi) Van Schoonhoven of Corpus Christi, TX; Tasia (Nate) Boson of Rapid City, SD, and Brendon Bartos; twenty five great grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Drummond of Rawlins, WY; Jean Murray of Grand Junction, CO; Rose Patras of Lincoln, NE; one brother, Harry Hanson of Mesa, AZ; two sisters-in-laws, Elmers wife, Francis of Casper, WY; Tom's wife, Erma of Saratoga, WY; and numerous nephews and nieces.
