Obituary

Alva Mae Wood, age 91, died June 2, 2006 in Colorado.

Mae was born April 9, 1915 in Paducah, TX, to Thomas Jefferson and Nannie Lee Robinson Oldham. She was the third of ten kids, seven boys and three girls. She married Hubert L (Woodie) Wood January 8, 1938.

Mae owned Woodies Northern Bar and Woodies City Bar.

Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Wood Aaberg of Colorado Springs, CO; stepson, Charles "Cub" (Loretta) Wood of Ellensburg, WA; five grandchildren, Tom & Dotty Aaberg of Glen Rock, WY; Jerry & Linda Aaberg of Colorado Springs, CO; Darla & Bill Picchi of Colorado Springs, CO; Kathy & Jack Alexander of Hot Springs, SD; Terry & Michelle Wood of Grangeville, ID; sister, Callie Sporesser of Amarillo, TX; brothers, T.J. Oldham of Amarillo, TX; Jasper Oldham of Phoenix, AZ; fourteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings and son-in-law, Tom Aaberg.

Inurnment will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs, SD with Reverend Peter Dahlberg officiating.

A memorial to Hanover Community Church has been established in Mae's name. Memorials may be sent to Hanover Community Church, 17480 Pexton Hwy., Colorado Springs, CO., 80928.
