Alvin Eugene Harris was born October 7, 1947, in Rushville, NE and died July 26, 2023, in Hot Springs, SD.

Alvin married Dayle Harper on October 14, 1967. He served in the US Army and was a Vietnam combat veteran.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Genevieve Harris; father and mother in laws, Don and Joyce Harper; son, Jay Harris; grandsons, Zane Jay Harris and Aaron Harris and niece, Leslie Harris.

Alvin loved his God, family, and country. His journey included being a railroad machinist, farmer, and rancher. He had a brilliant mind and could fix anything or invent a part that would work.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dayle Harris; sons, Bruce & Dean; brothers, Lenoard & Tim; sister-in-law, Vickie Thompson; brother and sister-in-law, Bevin & Donna Avent, seven precious grandchildren and many friends from all over the country.

Arrangements have been placed under the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
