Anita Peggy Swedlund (Huber) passed away unexpectedly on December 8, 2016, in Minnesota. She was born December 10, 1965, to Virgil and Rosetta Huber and grew up in White River, SD, where she learned to value a community built on friendship, forgiveness, and finding the good in the bad.
She graduated from White River High School and went on to receive a Business degree from Bismarck State College. Anita later met and married a crackerjack of a logger named Swede.
Anita was a free-spirit that couldn't be tamed by the wild prairies of White River nor the wild mountains of the Black Hills. She cherished her friends and family and was always there to lend a helping hand, an earnest ear, or a shoulder to cry on. Her advice usually began with, "In the long run…"
She listened to her music loud, danced badly, and drank cheap beer. She will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, Lowell; her daughter, Lucyna and son-in-law Justin Flor of Chaska, MN; parents, Rosetta Thompson of Shepherd, MT and Virgil Huber of Norris, SD; sister, Annalynn Kuper of Shepherd; brothers, Leon Huber of Norris; Lyndon Huber of Yankton; and Leslie Huber of Belvidere.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2016, at Custer Lutheran Fellowship in Custer.
