Jenniges
September 8, 1952 – October 15, 2018
Anthony Joel (A.J.) Jenniges of Custer, SD passed away at home on October 15, 2018. He was 66 years old.
Anthony was born in Hot Springs, SD on September 8, 1952 to Anthony M. and Helen (Hibbard) Jenniges. He spent his youth living in Custer, Rapid City, Wahpeton, ND, and back to Rapid City where he graduated from Stevens High School in 1970. But he was proud to call Custer his home.
Tony was in the National Guard in Rapid City for 6 years. In Custer, he was an accomplished mason and small business owner of AJ's Ore Car Saloon for many years.
A.J. enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially the Rockies and college football. He also loved fishing, hunting, skiing, golfing, camping, and spending time with his daughter, Julie, family, and friends. He was a talented handyman and enjoyed helping others with projects. He had a great love for classic cars and owned many including a '57 two-door hard top Chevy. Tony loved reading and cooking. On many camping and fishing trips, he made the meanest homemade pizza. Tony was amazing with numbers and solved the crossword puzzle daily, the only reason why he bought the paper. Tony had the greatest sense of humor and knew how to have a good time. He had a big heart and all who knew him felt gratitude for the pleasure of being his friend.
Anthony is survived by his daughter Julie Jenniges of Custer; brothers Nicholas (Bonita) Jenniges of Rapid City and Kevin (Glenda) Jenniges of Custer; sister Valerie (Scott) Brandsted of Rapid City; nieces, nephews, cousins, and so many good friends that were like family.
