Obituary

Arthur Melvin Butcher, 59, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away October 1, 2019, at Fall River Health Services in Hot Springs.

Arthur was born September 6, 1960, in Pasadena, TX, to  Melvin and Margaret (Barton) Butcher.

Arthur grew up and went to school in Buffalo, WY.  He enjoyed mowing lawns around Buffalo to earn extra money.  He was always a dedicated worker and so loved to help people.  One of his favorite past times was spending time at the softball and baseball fields, watching and of course visiting, he never knew a stranger!    Excelling in Special Olympics at the national level was a great achievement and he was very eager to show off the medals he proudly earned.   When his mother passed away in 1997 he moved to Hot Springs with his brother, Larry.

Arthur is survived by his brother, Larry (Jan Barnes) of Edgemont, SD.; his beloved family in Wyoming to include Aunt, Bert (Roberta Heppner) of Buffalo; Uncle Bruce and Aunt Carol Barton of Sheridan; and numerous loving cousins.

Memorial services will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2019., at the American Legion in Hot Springs.  Please bring stories of Arthur to share!

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
