Arthur L. "Butch" Nelson, age 69, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away on May 12, 2015, in Hot Springs.
Butch was born on March 25, 1946, at the Sisters Hospital in Hot Springs, to Geddis and Dorothy (Morris) Nelson. Butch was caring, had a heart of gold, husband, and father who loved to draw, woodwork and making people smile. He always made you feel welcomed when he talked to you.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Nelson of Hot Springs; daughters, Heather (James) Webb of Rapid City, SD; Allesia (Larry) Maciejewski of Custer, SD; Shawna Nelson of Hot Springs; brothers, Peter (Judith) Nelson of Claremont, CA; Robert (Aletha) Nelson of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Stephanie DeNoma of Rapid City; Xander Webb of Rapid City, and Aden Nelson of Hot Springs.
Preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Geddis Nelson; brothers, Francis (Bud) Nelson; Carl Nelson; and daughter, Dawn Renae Nelson.
A celebration and sharing of Butch's life will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Chamberlain-McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
