Obituary
Arvon Richard Hamilton, age 68, of Custer, SD passed away on March 4, 2017, at the Custer Regional Hospital in Custer.
Arvon was born in a blizzard February 15, 1949, in Orchard, NE, to Richard and Gladys (Eley) Hamilton. He moved to Norfolk, NE, when he was 1 year old. Arvon married Ann Lindsteadt on August 1971. They had one child, a son, Heath, who died in 1996. Arvon bought a piece of Black Hills in 1987, and they moved to Custer, in 1988. They started Christmas for kids in 1992. So many children, over three generations worth, have sat on Arvon's lap both here and in Nebraska. Arvon also named "Putz" to all his friends, loved to fish, hunt, 4 wheeling & camping. All of Arvon's friends teased him about him having 4 riding lawn mowers.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. thru 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Custer Lutheran Fellowship. Committal services will follow at the Custer Cemetery.
