Avon Nathaniel 'Snazz' Shaw, age 85, of Oelrichs, SD passed away November 15, 2007 at the Michael Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home in Hot Springs, SD.

Avon was born January 7, 1922 to Frank and Marjery (Dryden) Shaw in Oelrichs, SD.
He served in the US Navy during WWII, from 1944 until his honorable discharge in 1946. He spent most of his life farming and ranching in the Oelrichs area.

Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn (Dennis) Duke of Jamaica, IA; Nancy Magnuson of Marlow, OK; Avis (David) Jennings of Oelrichs; son, Scott (Joette) Shaw of Bellevue, NE; brother, Robert (Jan) Shaw of Bellevitta, AR; sister, Shirley (Kenneth) Cobble of Smyrna, TN; sister-in-law, Ann Shaw of Rapid City, SD. and four grandchildren.

Avon was preceded in death his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs, SD

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2007 at McColley's Chapel Of the Hills in Hot Springs with Reverend Loyd Nielson officiating.

Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery near Oelrichs.

A memorial has been established in Avon's name to benefit the Oelrichs Volunteer Fire Department.
