Beatrice Consuelo 'Connie' Torres, age 78, of Edgemont, SD left this life to be with our heavenly father on Thursday, May 1, 2008.

Connie was born September 21, 1929 in Edgemont, SD to Dolores and Candido Torres, Sr. She graduated from Edgemont High School in 1952 and from St. John's McNamara School of Nursing in Rapid City, SD in 1957 receiving a Diploma as a Registered Nurse. She practiced her profession in South Dakota, California and Colorado. She retired and moved back to Edgemont in 1993 where she enjoyed participating in church activities and the companionship of close family and friends. She was devoted to her faith and her family who will miss her presence in their lives.

She is Survived by her siblings, Evangeline Torres of Edgemont, SD; Gonzalo (Marilyn) Torres of Rapid City, SD; Javier (Arvella) Torres of Lead, SD; Candido Torres, Jr. of Hot Springs, SD; Jose Torres of Rockford, IL; Maria Riley of Colorado Springs, CO; Eleanor Ribordy of Northglenn, CO; Magdalena Atkinson of Glenwood Springs, CO as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Connie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Dolores and Candido Torres, SR.; a brother, Theodore Torres; and nephew Tracy Torres.

Wake Services will be held 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church in Edgemont.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 8, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Peter Kovarik officiating. Interment will follow at the Edgemont Cemetery in Edgemont.
