Bernice Joann "Bernie" Hall, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died on May 16, 2015, at Custer Regional Care Center. She was 85 years old.

Bernie was born July 4, 1929, to Pearl and Chuck Watson in San Diego, CA. On June 14, 1947, she married Marv Hall, her husband of 59 years, until his passing in 2006.

Bernie spent more than 20 years leading Bible studies at the South Dakota State Penitentiary and remained friends with many of the men throughout her lifetime.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Sherrie (Brian) Hawley of St. Paul, MN; Laurie (Lonnie) Arthur of Custer; grand-daughter, Erin (Chad) Cronin; great-grandchildren, Anitra, Isaac and Brenna; grand-daughter, Keely (Alex); great-grandchildren, Bria and Ava; grandsons, Shane Hawley, Quinn (Bethany) Hawley; grand-daughter , Darcy (Paul) Fastner; sister, Barbara (Sam) Courey, sister-in-law, Betty Penney and many nieces and nephews.

Bernie has been a resident of Custer since 2008. Her ashes will be spread where Marv's were in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Bernie is waiting for the day when she will be reunited with friends and family when she and Marv and all the others who have gone before will welcome them to their eternal heavenly home!
