Bette Lucille Pullins, age 89, of Custer, SD, passed away August 28, 2016, at the Custer Regional Senior Care Center in Custer.
Bette was born August 27, 1927, in Hot Springs, SD, to James and Dorothy (Baker) McGlone. She attended the Custer Elementary School and graduated from the Custer High School. On May 5, 1951, Bette married the love of her life, Leslie W. Pullins, and together they raised four children, Robert; William; Starla and Leslie. She also raised three grandchildren, Mellisa; Billy and Jessica. Bette and Les continued to reside in Custer, where they owned and operated a logging business, until Les passed away in 1980. Bette was a stay at home mother to her children and many others. Bette was always thinking others, she enjoyed cooking and caring for many hunters over the years. Bette will be missed by the many lives she blessed.
Bette is survived by two sons, Robert (JoAnne) Pullins of Rapid City, SD; William (Alice) Pullins of Martin, SD; 2 daughters, Starla Graham of Custer; Leslie (Gene) Barton of Hermosa, SD; three grandchildren whom Bette raised, Mellisa (Lewis) of Custer; William Pullins; Jessica Pullins; numerous other grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and longtime best friend, Mary Sandland.
Bette is proceeded in death by her sole-mate, Les; parents, James and Dorothy McGlone;half-sister, Dorothy Rasmussen and grandson, David Pullins
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at the Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at the Mountain View Baptist Church near the Custer Airport, with Pastor Matt Furse officiating. Interment will take place at the Custer Cemetery in Custer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Custer Senior Regional Senior Care Center in Custer.
