Betty Yvonne Wilcox, known to friends and family as Yvonne, passed away May 8, 2021 in Greeley, Colorado.

She moved to Severance, Colorado, from Hot Springs, South Dakota, to live with her son Jim Quick Jr. in

February 2019.

Yvonne was born December 7, 1936, to Paul Eugene and Zelma Marie (Lingle) Lyerla in Anna, IL.

She married James Quick Sr. November 16, 1954.  They had two children, James Quick Jr. and Rhonda (Quick)

Semm.   They were divorced in 1960.

Yvonne and her children moved to Hot Springs in July of 1968.  She worked at the Veterans Administration

Center in Hot Springs from October 1968 until she retired in July of 1994.

She married  Kenneth A. Wilcox on December 21, 1971.  He preceded her in death March 8, 2013.

In their retirement years Yvonne and Ken were active in the United Church, where Yvonne helped with the

Accounting for the church. They also enjoyed visits from friends and family, especially from her sister Jo Ann

and husband Ted Presley, who would spend the summer months and become part of the Hot Springs

community.  Yvonne enjoyed her crafts, making Christmas stockings for the grandchildren, nieces,

nephews and friends; embroidery, and baking.

She is survived by her son, James Quick Jr. (HSHS 1974), Severance, CO; daughter, Rhonda (Quick) Semm

(HSHS 1975),  Tempe, AZ;  stepdaughter, Sally (Wilcox) Grey (HSHS 1965), Soquel, CA; sister,

Jo Ann (Lyerla) Presley, Period, AL; brother, Ronald Lyerla, Seabeck, WA; 9 grandchildren and

12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Emma Jean (Lyerla) Clayessen; husband, Kenneth Wilcox;

brother-in-law, Ted Presley; sister-in-law Kathy Lyerla, and nephew Ronnie Wolf.

Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2021, at Chamberlain McColley's

Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD.

Committal services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Evergreen Cemetery in Hot

Springs, SD with Reverend Dr. David Cook officiating.
