Beverly V. Stearns, age 95, passed away November 13, 2013, at her home in Hot Springs, SD, surrounded by her three loving daughters.
Beverly V. Hill was born in Sturgis, SD, on August 29, 1918, to John Hill and Nevetta Calhoun Hill O'Conner. When her father returned home from Germany/France following the First World War, the family moved to a ranch north of Newcastle, WY. This is where Beverly grew up and graduated from Newcastle High School. On August 2 1937, Beverly married Millard Buhn and three daughters were born to this union-Barbara, Nevetta and Tonia. On March 9, 1953, she married Charles Stearns and they lived and ranched at Provo for over fifty years.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stearns; son-in-law, James D. Kane (Barbara) and her sister, Janice Stratton.
She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Kane and son, Neal Ferdig; Nevetta (Ralph) Sieg and their children, Randy (Sonia) Sieg, Radeen (Jon) Roth and Bart Sieg; Tonia Hand (Clint Gibson) and her children, Jordon (Yuri) Hand and Brandeth Hand; two sisters, Shirley Hill Lewin and Phyllis Hill Michaels; Charles Stearns's daughters, IvaBelle Honadel and Dorothy (Alfred) Honadel; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Beverly has been buried at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs and at her request a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
A memorial has been established in Beverly's name to benefit the Hot Springs Library.
