Bobby Joe 'Lucky' Wortham, former resident of Hot Springs, SD, passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2011, in Tucson AZ.
Lucky was born on August 12, 1941, in Hot Springs to Delores Petty and Jack Wortham at the Hot Springs Hospital. Lucky graduated from Hot Spring High School in 1961, and went to work at the Hot Springs V.A. After working at the V.A., Lucky worked in an auto body shop in Edgemont, SD soon after going to Wyoming to work at the Uranium mines Lucky moved to Tucson, AZ, to become a successful business man.
Lucky was a member of the Hot Springs Elks Club. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working in his garage, breakfast coffee with friends, and practical jokes on his family, especially his sister, Donna.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Wortham; children, Jeff Wortham, Kelly (Wortham) and Jim Stankevich; special children, Karin McArdle and Mary Bumstead; stepchildren, Trudi Smith and John Smith, his "special mother", Shirley Wortham; sisters, May 'Tiny' Mcknight, Donna (Wortham) and Roland March; sister-in-law, Helen Wortham; first wife, Patricia Emery Kehoe and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lucky is preceded in death by his mother and father, Delores and Jack Wortham; brother, Sidney 'Jackie' Wortham and sister, Fay 'Chubby' Schrader, along with one nephew and two nieces.
The funeral will be held at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs, SD, at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 18, 2011. Burial will be at the family plot in Evergreen Cemetery following the funeral.
