Obituary
Boyd Phillip Shelton, age 73, of Custer, SD, died on March 27, 2017, at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice South Dakota State Veterans Home in Hot Springs, SD.
Boyd was born on October 7, 1943, in Bassett, VA, to Raymond Edward and Fannie Agnes (Pegram) Shelton. He moved to Flint, MI, in 1964, then to Custer, SD, in 2011. Boyd was a United States Army Veteran who served 3 tours in Vietnam, until his honorable discharge in 1976.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Delores Shelton of Custer, SD; daughter, Alice Shelton of Custer, SD; and sister, Linda (Don) Sefeik of Grand Blanc, MI.
Preceded in death by parents Raymond & Fannie Shelton; son, Timothy; brother, Ray.
Memorial services were held March 29, 2017, at the SD State Veterans Home in Hot Springs SD.
Cremation has taken place, burial will be in Clio, MI at a later date.
In lieu of flowers family requests donations made to Humane Society of Custer Area.
