It is with great sadness that the Family of Brad Pickerill announce that he left us on July 10, 2026, at the age of 58. He was a noble, kind and generous person, always trying to cope with his lifetime of health challenges with humor and grace.

The kindness and loving care of Brad by the staff at Pioneer Manor was absolutely outstanding. They filled his days with joy. We are also very thankful for the support and kindness of Dr. Pelton and the medical community that took care of Brad.

We thank everyone for the endless and beautiful condolences during this sad and difficult time. Our Family needs time to grieve and heal.

We will celebrate Brad's life at the Olde Main Street Inn in Chadron on October 10, 2026, at 1:00 pm. Please join us in remembering Brad.

In lieu of flowers or tree donations, memorials may be designated to Memory of Brad PIckerill or Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs, NE.

Jeanne Goetzinger

Brad Lee Pickerill was born August 11, 1967, in Topeka, KS to Jeanne Goetzinger Pickerill and Paul Pickerill. Brad left us suddenly on July 10, 2026 at the age of 58. He was a noble, kind and generous person, always trying to cope with his lifetime of health challenges with humor and grace. "His wings were ready, our hearts were not."

Brad's early years were spent in Topeka. In 1980, he moved with his mom and sister, Lorri, to Edgewater, CO. He graduated from Warren Occupational-Technical Center in 1990 with a degree in Horticulture: Greenhouse/Landscaping.

Because of a lifetime of mental and physical limitations, Brad was limited in employment opportunities. However, he was a cheerful and willing helper to the staff at Pioneer Manor and also helped at Good Neighbors. He assisted his Mom at Olde Main Street Inn with the hotel duties, the flowers and the family garden. He loved the many gatherings in the garden with family and friends.

He loved to travel. There were many trips with family through Colorado, South Dakota, Arizona, California and to Florida to Disneyworld with Mom. He and his Dad had a great trip to Glacier National Park and through Yellowstone on a motorcycle.

The advent of Covid Pandemic in 2020, brought him home to live with Mom at Olde Main Street Inn to isolate him from the virus. He loved being at home with his Mom, Bandit and Trapper, his classic rock and roll music, Marvel and adventure DVDs and, of course, Mom's home cooking. He resided at home until declining health in October of 2024 necessitated a return to Pioneer Manor because of greater health needs.

Brad was well-read and knowledgeable about the world and events. He particularly loved being with his sister, niece, nephews and great-niece and great-nephew. He always had a big smile on his face if there were children and babies and dogs or animals around him.

Brad is survived by his mother, Jeanne Goetzineger; his sister and brother-in-law, Lorri and George Meng; his father, Paul Pickerill; his aunt and uncle, Nancy and Mel Crowe; niece, Chloe Meng; great-niece, Alexandria Meng, great-nephew, Jayden Meng; nephew, Max Meng; uncle, Jerry Pickerill; aunt, Judy French and many cousins.

Brad was predeceased by grandmother, Evva Gore; grandfather, Kenneth Goetzinger; uncle, Harold Goetzinger; nephew, Ian Meng and grandmother, Cuba Caldwell.
