Brian L. Burgess, 38, of Custer, SD, died Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Brian Lambert Burgess was born on July 28, 1979, in Rexburg, ID, to Jerry and Renae (Schondel) Burgess. Brian was raised and attended school in Evanston, WY, where he acquired many lifelong friends and had his oldest son Dominic.

In 1999, Brian met Krystal Gaskins and they later married September 3, 2003. During this time, they welcomed into the world, Cayden, Nathan, and Michael. They later divorced.

In 2013, Brian met Brittaney Carpenter and they later married July 7, 2014. In January 2015, Brian, Brittaney, and their family moved from Minot, North Dakota and made their home in Custer. During their marriage they welcomed into the world Chase but Brian sadly passed away just 3 short days before their son Lambert was born. Brian also accepted and loved Brittaney's oldest son Liam as his own son.
Brian was always full of life, the "jokester", and adventurous. He enjoyed spending time with friends, barbecuing, watching the Broncos, Rockies, and Nuggets play, and being a loving father and husband.

Brian is survived by his wife Brittaney (Custer); children, Dominic, Cayden, Liam, Chase, and Lambert (Custer), Nathan and Michael (Berthold, ND), Alexis (Idaho Falls, ID); brothers, Brendon (Tia) Wiebke (Idaho Falls, ID), Justin (Jennifer) Burgess (Idaho Falls, ID), and Travis (Shanna) Burgess (Rigby, ID), and his mother, Renae Daniels (Idaho Falls, ID).

Brian is preceded in death by his sister Michele Burgess and father Jerry Burgess.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018, at the Custer VFW Post 3442.
