Cassandra Lee Burbank, age 67, of Edgemont, SD, passed away April 2, 2012, at the Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs, SD.
Cassandra was born September 9, 1944, in Scottsbluff, NE, to Lyle and Virginia (Miller) Burry. She graduated high school in Nebraska and attended one year of college in Cheyenne, WY.
On November 24, 1987, she married Donald Hughes, Jr. in Shalimar, FL. Cassandra owned and operated a health food store in Lamar, CO, for two years and a health food store in Destin, FL, for two years, she then moved to Cheyenne, WY, where she worked as a nurse's aide for four years. In July 2003, Cassandra and Donald moved to Edgemont, SD.
Cassandra was a loving mother, wife and best friend. She gave much loyalty, faithfulness and unconditional love to all she knew.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Hughes, Jr. of Edgemont; daughter, Aegea (Daniel) Lee of Laguna Beach, CA; sister, Shelby (Eugen) Willer of Edgemont, and two grandchildren, Gage Lee and Sienna Lee.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the Edgemont Cemetery with Fr. Peter Kovarik officiating.
A memorial has been established in Cassandra's name to benefit the Edgemont Cemetery Committee, PO Box A, Edgemont, SD 57735.
