Christian J. 'Chris' Andersen, age 55 of Douglas, WY, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Douglas Memorial Hospital in Douglas.
Chris was born on October 31, 1957, in Hot Springs, SD, to Richard and Charlotte (Kaiser) Andersen, where he joined his three brothers on the family ranch near Burdock, SD. Chris graduated in 1976 from High School in Edgemont, SD. After graduation, he worked for the Burlington Northern. Over the years, Chris held many jobs but was best known for his knowledge of operating heavy equipment, especially the dozer. He lived in several states but always called the Burdock ranch his home. Chris enjoyed many titles throughout his life, including son, brother, and father, but his favorite was to be called "Papa" by his three grandchildren. He loved rodeos, family events, and watching his grandchildren's activities. Chris lived a life that left many stories to be told and no one was better at telling those stories than he was.
Chris is survived by his daughter TyLea (Scott) Sorensen of Gillette, WY; grandchildren, Jarek, Brody and Alix Sorensen; brothers, Don (Lynda) Andersen of Burdock; Mike Andersen of Rapid City, SD; Bob (Pamela) Andersen of Surprise, AZ as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Charlotte Andersen
