Christina Carol Petersen, 82, of Edgemont, SD, was called home December 6, 2025.  She was born June 2, 1943, in Burlington, CO to Benjamin and Betty Kern.  She grew up in the Eaton farming community.  She worked as a truck driver for booth and flat irons.   She later worked at Safeway and Visiting Angels for home bound seniors.

She married the love of her life, Roger Petersen in August,1988.  She loved her church, Southern Hills Evangelical Free Church in Hot Springs, SD; animals; clothes; jewelry; traveling; exploring and riding horses.

Christina is survived by her husband, Roger; daughters, Tammera Garrett; Pamela Schwenn; grandchildren, Jessica Stolzenberger; Julie Parker; Derrick Schwenn; Chad Schwenn; four great grandchildren; brother, Larry Kern; sisters, Diana Dervage and Ronda Brown.   She was predeceased by her parents and brother Kenny Kern.

There are some who bring a light so bright to the world that even after they have gone, the light remains.
