Clark E. Francis, age 54, from Hot Springs, SD, passed away on December 30, 2011, at Hospice House Rapid City Regional in Rapid City, SD. He was born April 21, 1954, in Martin Hospital, Martin, SD, to Lyle and Lola (Johnson) Francis.

Clark moved to Hot Springs, SD in 1961, and graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1973. He worked for the Fall River County Highway Department, operating heavy equipment, and was able to work at a job he loved for 25 years.

He participated in the Hot Springs Volunteer Fire Department for many years
and enjoyed fishing, black powder guns, and collecting fossils.

Clark was a strong and generous man who fought fourth stage lung cancer for seven and a half years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother, Lola Francis of Hot Springs; brother, John E. (Jimmie) Francis of Anchorage, AK; sisters, Carol (Gary) Stutzman of San Marcos, CA; Lorna Walgren of Hot Springs; niece, Corby Stutzman; nephews, Aaron Walgren; Shawn Francis; Jay Francis; and great niece, Clara Francis.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2012, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs with Pastor Morris Nelson and Pastor Bill Hallsted officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 6th, at the Martin Cemetery in Martin, SD.

The family requests that any donations be contributed to Rapid City Regional Hospice House.
