Claude 'Boyd' King, age 86, of Chamberlain, SD, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012, at Castle Manor Nursing Home in Hot Springs, SD.
Boyd was born on a farm near Iona, SD, the third of four boys born to Edwin and Leona (Wallace) King. He spent his youth on his parent's farm in Hamill, SD, and was a graduate of Colome High School. He had worked his farm near Chamberlain since 1962. He married his wife, Lillian in 1947.
Survivors include his four children, Perry (Kristi) King of Rapid City, SD; Ronald King of Rapid City; Kevin (Carla) King of Grand Junction, CO; daughter, Karla Sims of Chamberlain, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; his parents, Edwin and Leona; and all his brothers, Lyle, Merle and Wayne.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012, at the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain with Pastor James Oleson officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in Chamberlain.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Boyd's name to benefit the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain, and the MS Society.
