In the early morning of Tuesday, August 8th, Dallas was ushered into the arms of Jesus completing his earthly journey surrounded by his wife and several family members.

In March 2022, Dallas was diagnosed with Acute Plasma Cell Leukemia with a very short life expectancy. Dallas asked God for more time to spend with Bonnie.  God answered.  For the next 18 months, in between treatments, he and his wife Bonnie were able to travel repeatedly to visit family and friends until he entered Hospice August 4th.

Dallas Dean Keiswetter was born to Arthur and Agatha Keiswetter on August 10, 1941 in Cozad, Nebraska.  He lived in Cozad and graduated from high school in 1959.  Following graduation, he attended Westmar College in Le Mars, Iowa graduating in 1963 with a double major in Math Education and Economics.  He pole-vaulted both in high school and college and later coached both of his sons to state championships in the event. After teaching for several years, he completed his master's degree in math at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio on a national science foundation grant.

Early in Dallas' freshman year of college he met Bonnie, the love of his life, in the cafeteria line.  They were married on September 2, 1961 in Pomeroy, Iowa and were married 61 years. Their lives consisted of many moves until they settled in Manson, Iowa in 1970.  There they raised three children: Sherri, Dean and Mark.  In Manson, he resumed his teaching career until he retired in 1995.  He enjoyed coaching junior high track with many successful years.  Upon retirement, carpentry and wood working became a hobby. Many hours were spent in his shop creating beautiful, unique bowls and furniture.

In 2010, Dallas and Bonnie moved to an acreage in Hot Springs, South Dakota, where he enjoyed the beautiful scenery and weather God provided every day. Dallas was an active member of Southern Hills Evangelical Free Church and developed many great friendships. These friendships led into a friendly but competitive fantasy football league.  He also participated in fantasy football leagues with his family, often winning.

His father instilled in him a love of hunting and fishing and Dallas continued it with his children and grandchildren.   Dallas was active in his families' lives, taking note of their accomplishments and with few words was able to communicate how proud he was of all of them. When he spoke, people listened because his words were insightful, thoughtful, positive and encouraging.   Often, he would have his family and friends laughing with his quick, dry sense of humor and witty comments.

Dallas is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter Sherri (Todd) Samuelson of Clive, Iowa; sons Dean (Carol) Keiswetter of Raleigh, North Carolina; and Mark (Julie) Keiswetter of Doha, Qatar; grandchildren Andrew, Nicole and Ryan Samuelson; and Spencer, Ethan, Addie and Chloe Keiswetter; and brother Ralph (Sandy) Keiswetter of Cozad, Nebraska and nieces, great nieces and nephews.

Dallas was preceded in death by parents Arthur and Agatha Keiswetter.

He will be greatly missed for his problem-solving, patience, wisdom and fix-it abilities.  More important than all of these is the love that he had for the Lord and the great example he provided to everyone.

Memorials may be given to Camp Hallawasa or Compassion International.

Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Southern Hills Evangelical Free Church in Hot Springs, South Dakota.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2023, at Southern Hills Evangelical Free Church in Hot Springs, South Dakota.
