Obituary

My husband and best friend, Daniel Dale, 74, went home to be with his Savior on March 18, 2017. He was born, Jan 14, 1943, and raised in St. Paul, MN. His parents, Reverend David Dale and Olga Dale, preceded him in death.

After graduating from high school, he attended the University of MN, majoring in engineering. After 3 years of college, he served time in the Army, where he learned his career, which he loved. He then became an Operating Engineer, spending his working years in AK. He loved Custer, SD, and for the last 15 years was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Dan was a man of God and a great husband to Brinda Dale for 40 years. He was an awesome father and a generous provider to one daughter, Sandra Becker of Hattersheim, Germany, 2 stepdaughters, Christie Schofield of Navarre, FL, and Angela Warner of Lino Lakes, MN, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

I'm going to tell you a bit about Dan, as I knew him. He had a motto in life, "do everything with gusto" and this he did. He loved hard work and a good challenge. He always said, "I don't need help, if I can't do this job alone, then I don't need to do it." Dan also ate with gusto and enjoyed good home cooking until cancer began to eat away at his body 2 years ago, it did not, however, consume his soul. Dan had 2 favorite sayings, "we all want to go to heaven, but it's too much trouble spending an hour in church praising our Creator and Savior." He would most often tell others, "we are all going to live for eternity, but some of us will be more comfortable than others." Ponder on these 2 statements, as we will all reach this point in our lives, at some time.

Dan was a very blessed man during his time on earth. We will be together again one day, in a more glorious paradise. Now you know a bit, about "Dan, Dan, the man", as his close friends and the neighborhood children called him. He will be missed greatly!
