Obituary

Delores Dell's Memorial Folder
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our Mother, Delores Dell Donegon on Monday August 10, 2020 at the TRU Community Care Center in Longmont, CO.   Dell was born in Hot Springs, SD on September 4, 1927 to Francis Worden and Pearl E. (Leonard) Worden who have both preceded her in death.

Dell was a gentle, kind and giving person who was loved by everyone who knew her.  She couldn't have been a better role model for her family.  Some of the interests she had were gardening, painting ceramics, and spending time with her family. She always considered her most important role as being a Mom and Grandma.

Dell lived in Hot Springs until she graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1945.  After high school, she attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota and obtained her bachelor of science degree in nursing.  Shortly after graduating she married the love of her life, Roy E. Donegon in Hot Springs on December 21, 1948.  Mom and Dad started dating when Mom was 14 and Dad was 18 and were married for 44 years before his passing in 1993.   They lived in Florida and California before settling in Colorado Springs where Roy was involved in the starting of NORAD.

Dell is survived by a brother, Raymond; four children, Kate (Karl) Bogle of Longmont, CO; Dan (Bev) Donegon of Colorado Springs, CO;  Tricia (Brad) Carter of Lakewood, CO; and Debbie (Bob) Crum, of Loveland, CO;  seven grandchildren, Becky Carter of Nashville, TN; David (Jenny) Crum of Napa, CA; Chris (Marisa) Donegon, of Severance, CO; Kelli (Joe) Sottnik, of Centennial, CO; Brian (Molly) Crum, of Longmont, CO; Matt (Chauntal) Bogle, of Firestone, CO; and Kim (Jayson) Van Shura, of Lakewood, CO.  She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
