Delores Ilene 'Dee' Bush, age 79, of Hill City, SD, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Dee was born April 14, 1931 at home near Wall, SD, to Clarence and May (Malisch) Goodsell.

Dee started school in South Shore, SD. Her father worked building air bases during WWII. Her family moved to Custer where Dee finished her schooling. After graduating high school in 1949 she waitressed in local cafés. On September 24, 1951 she married Donald Dale Bush and started raising her family. She moved to Packwood, WA, where she ran the Packwood Hotel. Dee became active in the Fire Department Auxiliary, drove a school bus and later clerked in a local grocery store. They then moved to Hereford, SD, on a sheep ranch. Dee loved her work with the bum lambs.

After Don's death in 1991, she moved to Hill City where she did sewing for people and enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center or anyplace else she could get a game going. She probably has a game of cribbage going now.

Dee is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Foster) Boyd of Dickinson, ND; son, Harlan W. (Beverly A.) Bush of Hill City; brothers, Charles (Wilma) Goodsell of Pringle, SD; Vern (Freda) Goodsell of Custer; sister, Jean (Jim) Spargur of Hill City; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Custer, SD, with Pastor Bill Savery officiating. Interment will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City.

A memorial has been established in Dee's name.
