IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deloris Caroline
Heiney
January 24, 1933 – December 2, 2019
Deloris Caroline Heiney, 86, of Hot Springs, SD, was taken to be with the Lord December 2, 2019, at Pine Hills Retirement Community in Hot Springs.
Deloris was born January 24, 1933, in Shattuck, OK, to Lawrence and Lenora (Dobbs) Wheaton. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University where she met her future husband. Deloris was united in marriage to Franklin 'Harold' Heiney on December 23, 1953. Both Deloris and Harold were called to minister to Native Americans in Oklahoma, Montana and South Dakota. During this time of ministry they had four children, Barbara, Fred, Joel and Lawrence. God richly blessed them with nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Deloris loved children and taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed learning and trying new things including painting, pottery, knitting, writing poetry, quilting, sewing, cross stitch and an assortment of crafting. Later in life she shared her talents through her church at Cascade Road Baptist Church by designing prayer reminders. Deloris loved people and looked for ways to share that love with them.
Deloris is survived by her husband, Harold of Hot Springs; sons, Joel (Judy) Heiney of TX; Lawrence (Ann) Heiney of Jenison, MI; daughter, Barbara (Alan) Maughan of Aurora, CO; daughter in law, Tonia Heiney of Williston, ND; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2019, at Cascade Road Baptist Church with Kenyon Pappan officiating.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
