Delton Robert 'Bob" Whitney, age 70, of Pringle, SD, passed away May 30, 2012, at the Custer Regional Senior Care in Custer, SD.

Bob was born May 2, 1942, in Davison County, SD, to Stanley and Lucille (Kelly) Whitney. He worked in construction and served as the Chief of the Pringle Volunteer Fire Department for 31 years. He was a very kind and caring man and would help anyone that needed help.

Survivors include his wife, Violet 'Cookie' Whitney of Pringle; sons, Robert (Julie) Whitney of Pringle; Dean (Karen) Whitney of Custer; Joe (Dena) Whitney of New Underwood, SD; Wendell (Karen) Whitney of Pringle; daughter, Dawn (Denny) Tesch of Rapid City, SD; brother, Donald (Cindy) Whitney of Black Hawk, SD; sister, Darlene Bollock of Rapid City, SD; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the Pringle Fire Hall with Pastor Becky Piper officiating. Interment will follow in the Pringle Cemetery.
