Dolores Jean Schrier, 82, of Hill City, SD, passed away July 4, 2022.

Dolores was born October 26, 1939, in Elliott, Iowa to Harold and Cleo (DeWitt) Petty.  She and Dale were married in 1958.

Dolores was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was the # 1 biggest fan watching so many kids from the half-way court bleachers in Hill City.  One of the family's greatest memories of Dolores was her love for family gatherings.  At the annual Schrier Christmas she always made sure everyone in attendance received Christmas socks.

Dolores was a member of the Lions Club Lioness Auxiliary, Booster Club for the Hill City Schools, Red Hat Society, Hill City Senior Center, SD Food Service Association and J'Cettes.  Dolores was a long time member of the Breakfast/Birthday Club in Hill City.

Dolores is survived by her husband, Dale; sons, Howard (Sharon) Schrier of Rockerville, SD; Dennis (Meredith) Schrier of Hill City, SD; David (Sue) Schrier of Rapid City, SD; daughter, Ranae (Cliff Kieffer) Schrier of Rockerville, SD; brothers, Duane Petty; George Petty; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer, SD.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2022, at Hill City High School Theater in Hill City, SD.  Committal services will follow at Hill City Cemetery in Hill City, SD.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dolores' name to the Hill City School District annual scholarship fund.

Arrangements have been placed under the local care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer, SD.
