Donna Kay Heying began her life's journey on November 3, 1950 in Winner, SD. She grew up in the Colome/Winner area with her parents Walter Charles and Mary Jane Krauss, and her sisters, Carol (David) Clausen, and Shirley (Robert) Miller. She attended rural country school and then Winner High School where she met her husband, Mick.
After getting married on May 31st, 1969, Donna lived in Winner for three years, the farm for 20 years, Spearfish for about 3 ½ years, and the remaining 15 years of her life at Angostura Resort near Hot Springs.
Donna was a wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, farming partner and hotel co-owner. She enjoyed the country, riding horses, reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching baseball, and made taking care of her family a priority.
Grateful for sharing Donna's life are her husband, Mick; four daughters – Tamra (Steven) Henning, Kent, WA; Stacy (David) Ulrich, Sturgis, SD; Christine Heying, Rapid City, SD; and Sandra Heying, Rapid City, SD; and three grandchildren, Chase Henning, and Krista and Michael Ulrich. We love you!
Donna ended her life's journey at her home, surrounded by her family, on September 4, 2011 at the age of 60 after losing her battle with cancer.
Services will be held at 2pm at McColley's Chapels in the Hills in Hot Springs on September 8, 2011. A reception will be at the Legion immediately following the service.
