Doris traded her garden for puzzles and visiting with friends as she moved to Pine Hills retirement community in 2009, as one of the first residents.

Doris moved back to her hometown of Dell Rapids in February 2012, to live at the Dell Rapids Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and she lived there until her passing.

Grateful for having shared her life are her stepson, Russ Fellows of Hot Springs, SD; stepdaughter, Leanne (Patrick) McKinley of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister, Erma (Jake) Boldt of Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Don Mairose of Dell Rapids, SD; sister-in-law, Margaret (Jerry) Mairose of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Matilda Mairose, her husband, Dale R. Fellows, her brother, Jerry Mairose of Sioux Falls, and her sister, Bernetta (Robert) Huntimer of Sioux Falls, SD.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Hot Springs with Pastor Matt Lim officiating.

Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
