Obituary
Doris Catherine Gregg, age 99, of Custer, SD, passed away December 10, 2011, at the Custer Regional Care Center in Custer.
Doris was born September 16, 1912, in Flandreau, SD, to Eugene and Pauline (Halbmaier) Henry, the sixth of eight children, five brothers and two sisters, and was raised in the Flandreau and Egan, SD, areas.
On September 28, 1938, she married Russell E. Gregg, and to this union, they raised four children in the Flandreau-Egan area, later moving near Dalzell and Rockerville, SD.
Doris is survived by three sons, Richard (Vivian) Gregg of Palmer, AK; Russell (Jean) Gregg of Grant, NE; and Paul (Phyllis) Gregg of Pringle, SD; one daughter, Pauline (Wesley) Zwick of Doniphan, MO; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two sisters, her husband of 50 years, and one granddaughter.
Wake services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Custer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Kovarik officiating.
A memorial has been established in Doris' to benefit the Custer Food Pantry and the Custer County Ambulance Service.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Custer. Written condolences may be made at www.mccolleyschapels.com.
