Obituary
CUSTER- Doris Violet Herrmann, 76, died peacefully December 16, 2011, at Custer Regional long term care.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Custer. A pre-funeral wake open to the family and public will be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 21st at McColley's Chapel of the Hills. Pastor Steve Wagner, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church will officiate and burial will be held at Custer Cemetery.
Doris was born November 2, 1935, Naper, Nebraska to Gottlieb and Alvina Herrmann. She grew up on farms north of Naper, Nebraska and then 4 miles South of Dallas, South Dakota. She attended Dallas, SD High School and Gregory, SD High School. Doris worked as a care giver in Omaha, Neb, Rapid City, SD. Doris worked for various employers in the Custer area. Doris was a devoted daughter and care Giver to her loving mother, Alvina P. Herrmann. Doris and her mother lived for many years in their home in Custer. Doris resided at Wedgewood assisted living from 2000 to 2010 and then moved to Custer Regional Senior Care.
She is survived by her brother, Duwayne (Pat) Herrmann; sister, Delina (John) Nagel; brother, Donald R. Herrmann, sister, Dianna (Dennis) French and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by parents and a sister.
A memorial has been established in Doris memory to benefit Custer Regional Senior Care.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of McColley's Chapels of the Hills In Custer. Written condolences may be made at www.mccolleyschapels.com.
