Dorothy 'Dottie' Alvina (Klyberg) Buescher, 93, of Rapid City, SD, passed away December 21, 2022, at Arrowhead Lodge Senior Living in Rapid City, SD.

Dorothy was born February 27, 1929, in Duluth, MN to Narve and Ida (Solberg) Klyberg.  She married Vergal John Buescher on June 21, 1948 and lived most her life in and around Minneapolis/St. Paul area, until she moved to South Dakota in 2012.

Dorothy was an active member of Sons of Norway for many, many years. She could meet people anywhere and become instant friends with them, especially if she could talk about Norway. Her smile was one that would light up the room.  She always had a positive attitude, never speaking ill of anyone. She loved humor and enjoyed a good hearty laugh. Dorothy had a passion for animals, all animals. She could meet people anywhere and become instant friends with them. Traveling was a joy to her, especially traveling to Norway many times. Every year the family would travel to Big Falls, MN for the 4 ^th of July celebration with her sister, all the cousins, nieces, and nephews, what wonderful memories were made during those visits. Dorothy was very involved in her husband's art business, having an eye for all fine art. One of her favorite activities was dancing and dance she could and now she is dancing in Heaven.

Dorothy is survived by her sister, Lavone Gregorich of Duluth MN; children, David Buescher of Fortuna, CA; Colleen Engels of Anoka, MN; Charlene Buescher of Big Falls, MN; Carolyn Mastin Canaday (Danny) of Hill City, SD; grandchildren, Meisha Paramore; Jenna Buescher Hill; Avery Buescher; John Engels;  Adam Trites; Aaron Fuchs; Arielle Tyree; Garrett Mastin; Rich Mastin; John Mastin Jr; Jennifer Tessen; Breanne Brimm; Tylin Hillard; 17 great grandchildren;10 great great grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dorothy is predeceased by her mother, Ida Klyberg, father, Narve Klyberg; sister, Delores Olson; husband, Vegal Buescher and son-in-law, John Mastin.

Dorothy could have had a Viking funeral, her Viking ship ablaze as it sets sail in the North sea on Winter Solstice, and that she did.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M, Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Calvary Lutheran Church at 5311 Sheridan Lake Road in Rapid City, SD and a final memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 27, 2023, at River of God Church in Big Falls, MN and committal services at Evergreen Cemetery in Big Falls, MN.

Arrangements have been placed under the local care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer, SD.
