Dorothy Bertha Gullickson, age 85, of Edgemont, SD, passed away on October 5, 2014, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Dorothy was born on November 15, 1928, in Forrest Lake, MN, to Albert and Emma (Froemming) Peterson.
Dorothy was a public school lunch cook for a number of years, she also was the head cook for the Dakota Bible College for 3 years, and was a retail clerk at the Ben Franklin in Hot Springs for 6 years. Dorothy was an active member of the Church of Christ in Hot Springs. She was an amazing cook, enjoyed family gatherings, and cooking for the whole family. Dorothy was married to Clyde for 66 years and traveled often together.
Survivors include her husband, Clyde Gullickson; son, David 'Clyde' Gullickson of Melbourne, FL; daughter, Vickie Lynn (Kenneth) Zegan of Cheyenne, WY; sisters, Mable (Bob) Potter of Mankato, MN; Muriel (Buck) Osterbauer of St. Paul, MN; Betty (Roland) Zacharias of Minneapolis, MN; Ginny (Harold) Kulla of St. Paul, MN; Delores (Jim) Gannon of Stillwater, MN; five grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 9, 2014, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs, SD.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 10, 2014, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs, SD, with Rev. Bill Hallsted officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, October 10, 2014, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
