Obituary
Dorothy A. Schaffer, 93, of Freeport, IL, and formerly of Hot Springs, SD, died Sunday, November 4, 2012, at the Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport.
Born February 27, 1919, in Cherokee, IA, she was the daughter of Emory and Edna (Mellot) Howard. She married Daniel Schaffer June 20, 1936, in Elkton, SD. He died April 10, 2009.
Dorothy was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Freeport.
Surviving is her daughter, Grace (Gary) Mohr of Freeport; her son-in-law, Earnest (Della) Clark of Tyler, TX; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Dolores (Dee) Clark; 2 sisters; and 1 brother.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2012, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs, with a visitation being held one hour prior to the funeral service.
Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs.
A memorial has been established for Our Savior Lutheran Church, 991 Skyline Dr., Freeport IL, 61032.
