Dorothy Delia Stanley, age 89 of Hot Springs, SD, passed away April 12, 2010, at the Castle Manor Nursing Home in Hot Springs.
Dorothy was born October 1, 1920, in Hanna, SD, to Charles and Della (Curry) Lavier. She graduated from Lead High School in 1938 and married Randall 'Bud' Stanley, also from Lead, on August 24, 1940. They moved to their ranch home in Hot Springs where they owned and operated KSK Ranch for over 40 years. Three children were born to Bud and Dorothy, Patsy (Buster) Lee; John Stanley and Robert 'Bob' Stanley all of Hot Springs. They sold the ranch in 1983 and moved to town. They then spent their winters in Indio, CA, which they loved.
Dorothy played golf, bowled, was active in the Catholic Church and loved flower gardening.
Survivors include her three children; one brother, Dory (Joan) Lavier of Kelso, WA; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; her parents; one sister and one brother.
Wake services will be held 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2010, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father Peter Kovarik officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs.
