Dorothy J. Thornburg, age 83, of Edgemont, SD, passed away on January 31, 2017, at her home in Edgemont.
Dorothy was born on July 4, 1933, in Newell, SD, to Dave L. and Alma (Bretthour) Meyer. She retired from the State Veterans Home Hot Springs, SD, where she cared for her Veterans as a nursing assistant.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Walter) Wolyniec of Plains, PA; Diana (Donald) Moyer of Inwood, WV; brothers, Albert (Margaret) Meyer of Rapid City, SD; Elmer Meyer of Amarillo, TX; David (Connie) Meyer of Belle Fourche, SD; Walter (Delilaha) Meyer of Belle Fourche, SD; Robert Meyer of Belle Fourche, SD; sister, Virginia (Lynn) Schmidt of Belle Fourche, SD; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Billy, Wally, Donnie, Michelle, Kristen, Amanda and seven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Thornburg.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at the Black Hills National Cemetery, near Sturgis, SD.
