Duane Novice 'Dewey' Fallang, age 93, of Hot Springs, SD, and formerly of Madison, SD, passed away June 29, 2016, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Dewey was born June 17, 1923, in Rutland, SD, to Joseph and Violet (Calhoun) Fallang. He graduated from Rutland High School in 1942 and was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1946. Dewey was a member of the amphibious forces and participated in numerous Pacific invasions in WWII. He served 3 years in the South Pacific during WWII and 17 years in the Naval Reserve in Sioux Falls, SD.

Dewey is survived by his wife, Mary Jane of Hot Springs; daughters, Marilyn (Stacey) Titus of Rapid City; Suzanne (Kelly) Calhoon of Certerton, AR; sisters, Delores Rehn of CA; Doreta 'Sally' (Gus) Vantassel of KS; Joanne (Don) Bren of Brookings, SD; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Wake services will be held 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs with Fr.Grant Gerlach as celebrant.

Interment will be held 2:00, Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
