Dustin Robert Oesterling, 35, journeyed from this world into the next on June 9, 2018.
Dusty was born February 22, 1983, in Mitchell, SD. He worked as a Conductor at BNSF Railway and resided in Hot Springs, SD. Dusty will be remembered as kind-hearted, funny, full of life and always ready to celebrate and care for family and friends. Like his close relatives, Dusty was an avid fan of the Steelers. He also had a love of nature, fishing and hiking. Dusty was a brother, cousin, uncle, best friend, listener, supporter, handyman, helper, jokester, artist, story teller, and encourager, always ready to lift up and help, and always ready to laugh with and give comfort to anyone in need. He gave so much love to so many during his life.
Grateful for having shared his life is his companion, Nikki Hesse; his sister, April (Sam) Mogen-Frankfort and family of Madison, SD; his grandmother, Kathleen (Robert) Smith of River Falls, WI; his cousins, Melissa (Parry) Toft and family of Sioux Falls, SD; Michael (Jessica) Drew and family of Sioux Falls, SD; Megan (Daniel) Harnisch and family of Freeman, SD; Deny Oesterling, Jr. of Norman, OK; Laurie (Adam) Herman of Tempe, AZ; Beverly Oesterling of Peoria, AZ, Rose Smith, Forest Smith and Mitchell Smith of River Falls WI; his aunts and uncles Cindy (Dale) Drew, of Sioux Falls, SD; Tim (Cora) Oesterling of Mitchell, SD; Russ Oesterling of Pima, AZ; Deny Oesterling of Tacoma, WA; Donna Oesterling of Harrisburg, SD and many other friends and relatives.
He was preceeded in death by his father, Edward Richard Oesterling; his grandmother, M. Irene Oesterling; his grandfather, Richard Warren Oesterling; his cousin, Jason Oesterling; his grandfather, Robert Smith; and his beloved puppy, Ava-Bear.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home, 401 N. Garden Street in Hot Springs, S.D.
An informal memorial gathering will be held at the April and Samuel Mogen-Frankfort residence in Hot Springs following the visitation.
A memorial dedication will take place at the Worthing Cemetery along SD-117 at a date and time to be determined.
