Edward H. Binns
Edward H. Binns of Hot Springs, South Dakota died at the Ft. Meade Medical Center on October 29, 2025. He was born to Mary Cecilia Bernier Binns and Norman Brown Binns on August 31, 1951.
Edward was one of six boys and is survived by his brother Jonathan Binns, Christopher Binns and Jack Binns. Edward graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle Washington at the age of 16 years, and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Washington by the time he was 19 years old. Edward served in the United States Navy from 1971 to 1975, and was aboard the US Coral Sea. Edward then served in the US Navy Reserves for 5 years and achieved the rank of Lieutenant.
Edward worked as a CPA for the American Red Cross in Virginia until his retirement. As a CPA he was able to plan and invest so that he could retire at the age of 55. He chose Hot Springs, South Dakota for his retirement home.
Edward was the founder of Urban Coyotes. He loved playing the card game of Bridge. Edward attend performances of Shakespeare plays. He was was involved in the Evans Plunge, was the President of the Hot Springs Senior Living Center, the Black Hills Alliance for Clean Water and was opposed to uranium mining in the Black Hills.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Norman Michael Binns and David George Sidney Binns and his nephew, Ryan Binns.
A committal service will be held at a later date and a public notice will be posted. Edward was a constant searcher for the truth, and will be missed by many.
Edward is also survived by his friends in Hot Springs, South Dakota and Virginia, including Irene H. Wells.
