A Celebration of Eddie's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Centennial Park in Hot Springs, South Dakota
Edward Glen Sheets was born in Rapid City, SD, on May 30, 1984, to Earl and Linda Sheets. Eddie attended school in Hot Springs from 4 th grade until graduation. He lived with his father most of his life and in 2011, moved into his own apartment at the Brookside apartments. Eddie worked several different jobs in town, Evans Plunge, Pizza Hut, Winner's Circle, Woolly's, Pine Hills, Lynn's DakotaMart, the State Home kitchen and lastly at the Hot Springs Library. He was most well known for swimming at the Evans Plunge and was a master with the rings. Everyone knew him as he walked around town waving at all of those that passed by. He was a common face in town and everyone knew his name and loved his smile and laugh.
Eddie is survived by his mother, Linda Mello; aunts, Rose Nash; Mary Vandeberg; Carolyn Hupp and Lucille Sturdivant; uncles, Glen "Tuffy" Sheets; Joseph Sheets; Glen Hupp; David Hupp; numerous nieces and nephews and his BHSSC family.
Eddie is preceded in death by his father, Earl Sheets; uncles, Darrell "Shakey" Sheets; Sterling "Bud" Sheets; John Asche; aunts, Martha VanAntwerp; Norma Craft; Viol Phan; Lois Sherrill; Bertha Rohrick and Lola Smith.
Eddie fought a courageous battle with cancer. He passed away Friday, December 25, 2020. He passed away far too soon, but they say God only takes the chosen few on Christmas. We know that by the number of lives he has touched throughout his life. He will be greatly missed by many.
A celebration of Eddie's Life will be held at a later date.
