Ed Winkler, 54, of Custer, South Dakota died in Rapid City, SD at Rapid City
Regional Hospital April 12, 2007.
Ed's family was proud to have been able to share his life and happy to be among the many who were touched by his kindness and love. Ed had devoted his life to his family and to helping others as an RN. It was widely known that helping other people meant more to him than anything.
He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Winkler of Rural Hill City, SD, his wife, Julie Winkler of Custer, SD, two sons; Daniel (Fran) Winkler, Jeffrey Annable, both of Custer, SD; two daughters; Shana (Shane Cates) Winkler of Larrabee, Iowa and Jessica (Jim Reimer ) Allen of Hot Springs, SD; and one brother Bawn (Chris) Froning of Omaha, Ne.,three sisters; Pam Ishii of Omaha, Ne, Judy Robison of Hill City, SD, Kristine Froning of Hill City, SD; grandchildren, Taylor Winkler, Wyatt Winkler, Kiara Allen, Rhiannon Winkler and many nieces and nephews..
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; Daniel Winkler and Shirley Addison.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Ed's name.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2007 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Custer, South Dakota with Pastor Bill Savery and Don Sitters officiating.
A reception will follow services at the Custer Community Church Fellowship Hall.
