Ella Zina (Audiss) Thompson, age 93, formerly of Hot Springs, SD, passed away April 1, 2014, at the Good Samaritan in New Underwood, SD.

Ella was born on June 24, 1920, in Butte, NE, to Lant and Ethel Mae (Fisher) Audiss. As a baby the family moved to Martin, SD. She graduated from Martin High School in 1938, one year later she attended Faith Home Bible College in Mitchell, SD from 1939-1940. Ella was united in marriage to Joseph (Joe) Thompson on October 12, 1940, in Hay Springs, NE. They farmed and raised their three daughters near Martin, SD until moving to Hot Springs in 1954. She was an active member of the Hot Springs Wesleyan Church. After her husband's death in 1998, she moved to Rapid City to be close to family. The last 3 years she resided at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in New Underwood where she received loving care from all the staff.

Survivors include daughters, Glenna Jo (Richard) Pattison of Rapid City, SD; Karen Yvonne Duncan of Pensacola, FL; and Shirley Ann (Jerry) Edwards of Rapid City, SD; 6 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Joseph (Joe) Thompson; parents, Lant and Mae Audiss; sisters, Vera Tutch and Bernice Coats.

A visitation will be held 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, April 4, 2014, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs, SD.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs with Pastor Steve Selfridge and Pastor Bill Hauck officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs.
