Obituary
Ellen Minnie Norton, 84, passed away August 27, 2009, at the Custer Regional Hospital in Custer, SD.
Ellen was born January 5, 1925, in Crawford, NE, to Wyatt Leroy and Minnie Lee (Britton) Holder. She attended school in the Crawford area and worked at Ft. Robinson in the mid 1940's. On May 1, 1943, Ellen married Marlyn Vik and to this union one child, Dennis, was born. Ellen moved to Powell, WY, in the early 1950's where she worked at several different jobs, the last being at the Powell National Bank. On February 19, 1962, Ellen was united in marriage to Elwood 'Tony' Norton. Tony passed away October 27, 2005. Ellen recently resided at the Cuter Regional Senior Care Center in Custer since March of 2006.
Ellen is survived by her son, Dennis, and wife, Delores, of Newcastle, WY; sister, Olive Dyer of Billings, MT; grandchildren, Rinda Storkamp and Wade Vik, of Newcastle; step-grandchildren, Scott Franz of Aberdeen, SD; Lisa Olson of Gillette, WY; Angela Speas of Cheyenne, WY; John Speas of Newcastle; six great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 10, 2009, at the Methodist Church in Crawford with Rev. George Kilmer officiating.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Custer. Written condolences may be made at www.mccolleyschapels.com.
