Elvin John 'Buster' Duster, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away April 3, 2013, at Belle Fourche Healthcare Center in Belle Fourche, SD.
Buster was born October 14, 1921 in Platte, SD to Clarence Peter and Lena (Tanner) Duster. On December 29, 1945, he married Isabel Anderson, to this union six children were born. He lived in Oral, SD for 48 years ranching and running Duster's Service Trenching Business. He lived in Hot Springs for four years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 with Company B 1259th Engineer Combat Battalion. until his honorable discharge in 1946 with the rank of M-SGT.
Survivors include two sons, Clarence (Mary) Duster of Buffalo, WY; Mike (Lynn) Duster of Loveland, CO; three daughters, Judy Muhm of Belle Fourche, SD; Susan Cornay of Peralta, NM; Terri (Manuel) Cornay of Hot Springs; sister, Mabel Stanton of Riverton, WY; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
Buster was preceded in death by his wife Isabel, son Nicholas John and two grandsons Michael John and Michael Elvin.
Wake services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2013, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs with Fr. Tim Hoag and Fr. Thomas Tierney officiating.
Interment will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
A memorial has been established in Buster's name to benefit the Oral Volunteer Fire Department.
